Fit for a Self-Rescuing Princess

Hi all! I hope if you’re reading this then lockdown life is treating you well, wherever in the world you may be. Whilst everyone is adjusting to the new normal, hopefully we can distract you with some new designs here at Ninja Cat Crafts.

Over the last two months we released two Studio Ghibli patterns : Chihiro and Kiki (with Jiji, of course) and today we announce our third heroine. The Princess Mononoke (San) pattern is now available in our Ravelry store.

It has a whole lotta detail, so you can tell a lot of love went into this pattern. The blue dress underneath is integrated into the doll, with a white vest over the top – tied at both sides. Over that is her cape, completed with fang necklace holding it over the shoulders. Then, of course, there is her hood with mask and ears. The hood is actually a separate piece in itself and can either be worn over the head, or slung back as shown in the photos.

And all of this is on top of all the little details – her wee boots, her armbands, her headband…

Just like the previous two dolls, she is designed to stand up unaided and support her own weight. The arms in the doll are hollow so there is also the option to insert hobby wire or pipe-cleaners to make them poseable. The doll is also designed to match in height and proportions to our Chihiro and Kiki dolls so they can sit side by side in a collection.

You can see more pictures of each piece and more details on the pattern requirements on the Studio Ghibli – Princess Mononoke page on the blog (click HERE) or in our Ravelry store (click HERE).

As always, if you like what you see, please feel free to leave a comment. Same goes for any questions too, always happy to have the feedback!
