Something a little different on offer this week. For those of you with little ones, or needing gifts for little ones that are on the way, our latest FREE pattern are some baby crochet sneakers.
Great for keeping little tootsies warm and dry whilst also being the coolest kid around. 🙂
The pattern is currently available for size 3 to 6 months, which measures approximately 10cm (or 4 inches in old money) from toe to heel. If you’d like to see a pattern for 0 to 3 months (or maybe bigger?) then don’t be shy and let us know in the comments. We are happy to create some more sizes if there’s interest out there!
The pattern uses aran weight yarn and a 3.5mm hook. We used Drops Paris in grey, white and black, but you can really go mad with the colour choices and styling them out.
If you want to jump straight, in you can see more pictures and the full pattern by just clicking HERE. Otherwise, read on for a little pattern tour…
If you’re a beginner or a moderate beginner (who maybe is more familiar with amigurumi’s than wearables) they can look a little intimidating. But they are constructed in simple sections that build up.
Each sneak is created from the bottom up with two soles sandwiched together with slip stitches to provide a solid base to work from.
Then you add a toe section and you are left with something that looks like a cross between a moccasin and a canoe!
Then it’s time to build up the sides, leaving a few gaps for threading through the laces, and a tongue at the front. Then suddenly, you have something that starts to resemble a sneaker!
Add a few finishing flourishes – some stitch detailing, a heel tab and (of course!) some laces – and voila! You’ve got yourself a sneaker!
We really hope you enjoy this pattern! Once again, you can hit the link below to take you directly to the pattern page.
