Let’s Get Started!
Impaling Imposter
The imposter crew member starts similarly to the regular crew mate pattern – starting from the bottom up with two legs joined into one single round. If you would like more pictures on how this is done, see the original Among Us post HERE.
LEFT LEG
Using your main colour yarn, working in continuous rounds
Rnd 1 : Stitch 6sc into a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2 : 2sc in each stitch around (12)
Rnd 3 : sc BLO in each stitch around (12)
Rnd 4-8: sc in each stitch around (12)
Fasten off.
RIGHT LEG
Repeat as per left leg for Rnds 1-8 and then, instead of fastening off, move on to Rnd 9.
Rnd 9: Ch2. Insert the hook into the left leg. Working around the left leg, sc in all 12 stitches. Working across the ch stitches, sc in the 2 chains. Repeat around the right leg and opposite side of the chain. (28)
This will connect both legs together and form one continuous round for the body.
BODY
Rnd 10: *sc in the next 13 stitches, 2sc* Repeat 2 times (30)
Rnd 11-16: sc in each stitch around (30)
Stuff down into the legs and start to fill the body. Continue to stuff as you go.
Switch to black yarn.
Rnd 17:: *scBLO in the next 3 stitches, sc2tog BLO* Repeat 6 times (24)
Rnd 18: *sc in the next 2 stitches, invdec* Repeat 6 times (18)
Rnd 19: *sc in the next stitch, invdec* Repeat 6 times (12)
Rnd 20: dec in each stitch around (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Using a yarn needle, weave the tail end through the front loops of the last Rnd of stitches and pull tight to close. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

HEAD
Using black yarn, working in continuous rounds.
Rnd 1 : Ch6. Working into the 2nd st from the hook, sc in the first 4 stitches and 3sc in the remaining stitch turning on the 3rd stitch. Working down the opposite side of the starting ch, sc in the next 3 stitches and 2sc in the last (12)
Rnd 2 : 2sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 3 stitches, 2sc, 2sc, 2sc, sc in the next 3 stitches, 2sc in the last two stitches (18)
Rnd 3 : *sc in the next 2 stitches, 2sc* Repeat 6 times (24)
Switch to green yarn
Rnd 4 : *sc in the next 3 stitches, 2sc* Repeat 6 times (30)
Rnd 5 : sc BLO in each stitch around (30)
Rnd 6-9 : sc in each stitch around (30)
Rnd 10 : *sc in the next 8 stitches, invdec* Repeat 3 times (27)
Rnd 11 : *sc in the next 7 stitches, invdec* Repeat 3 times (24)
Rnd 12 : *sc in the next 6 stitches, invdec* repeat 3 times (21)
Rnd 13 : *sc in the next 5 stitches, invdec* Repeat 3 times (18)
Rnd 14 : *sc in the next stitch, invdec* Repeat 6 times (12)
Rnd 15 : invdec in each stitch around (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Using a yarn needle, weave the tail end through the front loops of the last Rnd of stitches and pull tight to close. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

MOUTH
Starting with the body, using the same main colour yarn, locate the front loops of Rnd 16 (the last body colour round before changing to black yarn). Because the first black round (Rnd 17) was worked BLO, the front loops are still available to work in.
Find the natural start of the round at the back. Cast on to your hook and insert the hook into the first front loop.
Work an sc in each stitch around and slip st into the first stitch to join. Fasten off.
This will create the rim of the mouth.

The upper mouth is worked in a similar way.
Locate the front loops of Rnd 6 of the head (again, where the yarn colour changes to the body colour). You will notice that the start/end point of the round is to the SIDE this time, not the back.
Insert the hook into the front loop as before and work an sc in the next 21 stitches only. Fasten off leaving a long tail for joining.
This will leave a 9 stitch ‘gap’ along the back of the head.

BODY ASSEMBLY
Line up the back of the body with the ‘9 stitch gap’ at the back of the head.
Using the tail end yarn from the upper mouth at the back of the head, whip stitch the head and body together across the 9 stitch gap only.
This will attach the head and body together and act as a hinge between the two, leaving the front of the mouth open. Do not worry if the seam is not as neat as you would like, it will be hidden by the backpack.

VISOR
Using grey or light blue yarn, working in continuous rounds.
Rnd 1 : Ch6. Working into the 2nd st from the hook, sc in the first 4 stitches and 3sc in the remaining stitch turning on the 3rd stitch. Working down the opposite side of the starting ch, sc in the next 3 stitches and 2sc in the last (12)
Switch to black yarn
Round 2 is worked entirely BLO
Rnd 2 : 2slip st in the first stitch, slipst in the next 4 stitches, 2 slip st, 2 slip st, slip st in the next 4 stitches, 2 slip st in the last (16)
Fasten off.
Once complete you can use some scraps of white yarn of embroidery thread to create the reflection detail in the upper right corner.
Attach to the front of the head.

TEETH (Make 7)
Using white (sports weight) yarn, chain 4 stitches. Working into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each stitch along (3)
Fasten off.
Attach across the inside of the mouth: Four across the bottom, three across the top.

BACKPACK
Using your main colour yarn, working in continuous rounds
Rnd 1 : Ch6. Working into the 2nd st from the hook, sc in the first 4 stitches and 3sc in the remaining stitch turning on the 3rd stitch. Working down the opposite side of the starting ch, sc in the next 3 stitches and 2sc in the last (12)
Rnd 2 : 2sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 4 stitches, 2sc, 2sc, sc in the next 4 stitches, 2sc in the last (16)
Rnd 3 : sc BLO in each stitch around (16)
Rnd 4-8: sc in each stitch around (16)
Rnd 9: *sc in next 2 stitches, invdec* Repeat 4 times (12)
Rnd 10: invdec in each stitch around (6)
Decrease around to close. DO NOT FILL. With the head piece tilted backwards, the backpack needs to bend into the angle and if it is stuffed it will be very difficult to attach.

Impaling Thing (Any ideas what you would call it?!)
For this, I just used a cocktail stick painted black with a black felt pen. High tech indeed.
Using a spot of glue on the end, insert one end into the centre-back of the mouth.
And that’s it, he’s complete!
