Gotham Villains Collection

CROCHET AMIGURUMI PATTERN

Ever wanted your very own set of Gotham villains that were just as cute as they were creepy? Well, this could be just for you…

This pattern details how to create, step by step, your own Gotham City Mega Villains collection to terrorise the metropolis. That includes; Cat Woman, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, The Joker, The Penguin and Harley Quinn. Six characters in total!

The pieces are all worked up in regular sports weight yarn, and any brand will do. The pattern uses yarn to create as many of the pieces as possible, but a pipe-cleaner or cocktail stick are useful to make the decorations on The Penguin, so he can complete his dapper villain style with monocle and cigar.

But first a few details:

Termnology: The pattern is written in English, in standard US terminology

Measurements: The finished figures measure approx. 10 cm. Some are a little taller due to their hats/masks.

What you’ll need:

  • Sports Yarn (various)
  • 3.5mm crochet hook
  • 7mm safety eyes (x12)
  • Stuffing material
  • Stitch markers and pins
  • Yarn needle
  • Cocktail stick and/or pipe-cleaner (opt)

In terms of difficult, the majority of the pattern is worked in single crochet stitches, with increases and decreases. If you are used to amigurumi patterns then this will be worked up in no time at all! There’s nothing a moderate beginner couldn’t handle. But if you are new to crochet and want to make sure you are familiar with all the stitches used before committing to purchase, the stitches and terms used are listed below:

  • Magic ring
  • Chain stitch
  • Single crochet stitch
  • Half double crochet
  • Back loops only
  • Single crochet decrease (sc2tog)
  • Invisible decrease (single crochet decrease stitch worked in the back loops)
  • Slip stitch (used a lot for detailing and trims)

There is some colour work involved with Harley Quinn. It’s limited as much as possible, and requires no more than two colours at a time with a colour change mid-round.

And the set is available to purchase from our Ravelry store HERE.

Happy crocheting!
