Studio Ghibli : Kiki and Jiji

CROCHET AMIGURUMI PATTERN

Inspired by one of the most iconic characters from the Studio Ghibli movie Kiki’s Delivery Service, may I introduce to you Kiki. Complete with red bow, delivery satchel and broom.

And, of course, Kiki would never be without her side-kick cat, Jiji!

The pattern has been worked up in aran weight cotton yarn (Brand: Drops Paris), but you could substitute for a different weight/yarn type as long as you change the hook size accordingly.

But first a few details:

Terminology: The pattern is written in English, in standard US terminology

Measurements: The finished piece measures approx. 22-23 cm tall. Jiji measures approx. 8-10 cm tall.


What you’ll need:

  • Aran weight yarn (Drops Paris) – beige, blue, red, black, dark and light brown
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • 9 mm safety eyes (x2)
  • Stuffing material
  • Stitch markers and pins (optional)
  • Cocktail stick (optional, for the broom)
  • Felt (optional, for Jiji’s eyes)
  • Yarn needle

Stitch Knowledge Required:

  • Magic ring
  • Chain stitch
  • Single crochet stitch
  • half double crochet
  • Back loops only
  • Front loops only
  • Single crochet decrease (sc2tog)
  • Invisible decrease

What’s included in the set:

The pattern includes instructions for the main doll Kiki, including her red bow and delivery satchel…

… as well as JiJi the cat and delivery broom.
