CROCHET AMIGURUMI PATTERN
This pattern is inspired by The Shadow, a Pureblood Heartless, from the Kingdom Hearts game series. With his wired antennae and poseable arms, he’s a suitable combination of cute and creepy! He also comes with his own (stolen) heart!
The pattern has been worked up in aran weight cotton yarn (Brand: Drops Paris), but you could substitute for a different weight/yarn type as long as you change the hook size accordingly.
But first a few details:
Terminology: The pattern is written in English, in standard US terminology
Measurements: The finished piece measures approx. 21cm tall to the top of the head, 28cm with the antennae posed as shown.
The antennae and arms are wired so that he is poseable – the pattern includes photo descriptions with tips on how to complete the wiring and their positioning.
What you’ll need:
- Aran weight yarn (Drops Paris) – black and red
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- 12 mm safety eyes (x2)
- Stuffing material
- Stitch markers and pins (optional)
- Yarn needle
- Craft wire or pipe-cleaners
Stitch Knowledge Required:
- Magic ring
- Slip stitch
- Chain stitch
- Single crochet stitch
- Front loops only
- Invisible decrease
The photo illustrations show yellow safety eyes – these may not be readily available depending where you live. As a potential alternative, those shown in the photographs are actually black safety eyes lightly sanded and coated with yellow nail polish to create a high gloss safety eye.
